It is a space for joint reflection to enrich the work and contribute to its completion.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This forum is intended for work in progress that can benefit from discussions, and there is still time for change.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main objectives of WTD-IHC are:<\/span><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promote the visibility and improvement of ongoing research;<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Offer participants critiques of their research and future directions through a mentoring format with experienced researchers in the field;<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foster a cooperative community among <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stricto sensu<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> postgraduate students and a collaborative spirit of research;<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide an opportunity for students to interact with experienced researchers and experts from the HCI community.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2026, the WTD-IHC will have a dynamic format with moments focused on individual or collective mentoring, discussion, and evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e547be0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e547be0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Instructions for Submission<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5456fe5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5456fe5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submissions will be analyzed considering the most significant potential for contributions to their improvement through participation in the WTD-IHC. The selected works will be those that are at least in intermediate stages of development and evolution; that is, they already have some defined aspects, but still present conditions for possible redirections.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Very early, completed, or near-complete research is outside the workshop&#8217;s scope.<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Work can be submitted to WTD-IHC even if another version of the research has been submitted to another IHC 2026 track (for example, research articles and articles on innovative ideas and emerging results in HCI), considering that the focus submission to the workshop must be on the <\/span><b>project\/design of the research in progress<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, not on its results, as in other tracks. Submissions in Portuguese or English will be accepted.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Authors must submit an extended abstract of up to 5 pages (including figures, tables, diagrams, bibliography, and annexes) containing:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The title of the research, the name of the doctoral\/master&#8217;s student, the name of the supervisor and co-supervisor, the name of the institution and the postgraduate program, the number of months of work development, and the expected time for completion.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The motivation for the research, clearly indicating the problem addressed and its relevance, in addition to the objectives of the work.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The theoretical basis underlying the research and, if applicable, the comparison of the proposed research with related work.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The research methodology proposed to address the problem, with due detail, explaining how the work has been developed and evaluated.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ethical procedures of the research, if applicable, and the submission status for evaluation by an Ethics Committee, if necessary.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The expected results or partial results already obtained, related to the expected contributions to the field of HCI.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The activity schedule highlighting the steps already completed (qualification, proposal, etc.) and future steps.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Optionally, a link to additional research artifacts (e.g., qualifying text, published articles, raw research data, digital repositories, etc.).<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The nominated authorship of the submission must be exclusively that of the master&#8217;s\/doctoral student and their supervisors.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Authors must follow the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sol.sbc.org.br\/index.php\/indice\/conduta\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Code of Conduct for Authors in Brazilian Computing Society&#8217;s Publications<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The use of Generative Artificial Intelligence tools and technologies for content generation in writing should be explicitly stated in the work. To facilitate locating this information, it is suggested that this statement be included in the &#8220;Acknowledgments&#8221; section.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Authors should submit their papers electronically in PDF format via the JEMS system, following the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbc.org.br\/documentos-da-sbc\/category\/169-templates-para-artigos-e-capitulos-de-livros\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SBC template<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Since the workshop is a forum for debate on work in progress, authors must register for the conference and actively participate in the WTD-IHC, not only by presenting their work but also by contributing to the other works accepted at the workshop.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To meet the workshop&#8217;s objectives, the work must be presented exclusively by the student author and cannot be presented by the supervisor or any other person.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the 2026 edition, there will be a mentoring session between the invited researchers and the authors of accepted works to facilitate more in-depth discussion of the presented works. After mentoring, authors will have the opportunity to refine their proposals based on the feedback received and then present their improvements to the group.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Details about the activities and workshop format will be released in time so participants can prepare in advance.
