Designed by Oscar Niemeyer, Brasília is an architectural spectacle throughout the world. In 32nd position on the New York Time list among the hottest destinations in 2024, the country’s capital is described as “a planned city, famous for its white futuristic and modernist buildings that rise on the Brazilian plateau”.
Civic tourism and the architect’s lines were the city’s main attractions for a long time, but today the capital of Brazil offers many more leisure options. In October, Brasília usually has a humid climate, but variations are expected, with some hot days and others rainy. This way, you can plan to enjoy the tours and your stay.
Check out some places that will make all the difference in your itinerary:
16 km (9,94194 miles) from the Campus, Pontão is on Lago Sul, and offers a postcard experience, reminiscent of the coast, with the most beautiful sunset in the city. Open from Thursday to Sunday, with a variety of gastronomy options, it’s a complete leisure program, with security and ample parking.
Location: Pontão do Lago Sul
Close to the Esplanada dos Ministérios and the Plano Piloto Bus Station, the library is open from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 10pm, and on weekends, from 8am to 2pm. Entrance is free and the site has adapted bathrooms, ramps, tactile flooring and an elevator.

Visitation takes place from Tuesday to Saturday, from 8 am to 4:45 pm, and also on Sundays from 7 am to 5:40 pm. Visiting is not allowed during celebration times.
SESI Lab is a creative environment that connects art, science and technology, providing unique experiences of interaction with the works. The space is also close to Plano Piloto Bus Station, open from Tuesday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10am to 7pm. The entry is free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month. On other dates, ticket prices and any free fees available must be consulted.
182 meters high, and offering a 360-degree view of the city, the Digital Tower is Oscar Niemeyer’s latest project, built in 2012. Located in the Taquari Sector, the tower is open to visitors from Tuesday to Friday, from 12pm to 6pm and on weekends and holidays, from 9am to 6pm. Tickets range from 11 to 22 reais. The space has handrails, braille maps, tactile flooring, ramps and exclusive parking spaces.
